Strengths: The Salvation Army International Heritage Centre was formed in 1988 by amalgamating the society's Archives and Research Centre (established in 1979) with the Salvation Army Museum, which dated back to the 1920s. The Heritage Centre holds a mixed collection of achives, books, periodicals, artefacts, uniforms, equipment and ephemera relating to Salvation Army work worldwide.

Access conditions: Visiting researchers are welcome by appointment, and staff also undertake limited research (up to a maximum of 5 hours) in response to enquiries by letter, telephone, fax or e-mail.
Photocopying of suitable material is undertaken by Heritage Centre Staff, at the discretion of the Archivist. The use of a microfilm reader-printer must be booked in advance.
