Strengths: McManus Galleries houses the city of Dundee's art, history and the natural sciences collections. These include material relating to local archaeology, Egyptology, local history and industrial history, costume, Scottish silver, glass and ceramics, geology (including fossils), plants and animals. There is also an extensive photographic collection covering most aspects of life in Dundee over the last 100 years. Missionary-related archival collections include material on Mary Slessor, a United Presbyterian Church of Scotland missionary in Africa, and her correspondent Charles Partridge.
