Strengths: Dundee City Archive and Record Centre holds:
the official records of the City of Dundee City Council, the former Corporation of Dundee and the core records of the former Tayside Regional Council; records retransmitted from the National Archives of Scotland, including church, Customs and Sheriff Court material; private records including family, estate, business, trades union and other papers. There are a few collections relating to local home missions in Dundee; the chief collection relating to overseas missionary activity is correspondence of Mary Slessor, who worked for the United Presbyerian Church of Scotland in Africa.

Proof of identity required.
Book in advance. Members of the public may consult the records for the purposes of historical research on condition that they sign the Search Room regulations.
Access to the City Archives is via two flights of stairs; special arrangements can be made for readers with walking difficulties.
Photocopying may be carried out depending on the condition of materials.
