Rowlands, Jane HelenIDENTITY STATEMENT
CONTEXT Name of creator(s): Administrative/Biographical history: (Jane) Helen Rowlands (Helen o Fôn) was born in 1891 at Menai Bridge, Anglesey. She was a missionary in Sylhet, Assam, India (now Bangladesh), which was in political turmoil with racial tensions being high; she met Gandhi in 1926. In 1937 she addressed the Women's Missionary branch at Twrgwn, Bangor, Caernarfonshire. She died in 1955.
