CONTEXT Name of creator(s): Administrative/Biographical history: Custodial history: Immediate source of acquisition: CONTENT AND STRUCTURE Scope and content/abstract: The collection is one of the best in Britain for the study of Brethren texts, and the biography of notable personalities and missionaries. There are 280 periodical titles, 5,300 books and 7,500 pamphlets and tracts. Over 400 publishers of Brethren works world-wide are represented. Since acquisition in 1979, the collection has subsequently been augmented by several substantial additional collections including the Bristol Library for Biblical Research, the library in the offices of Echoes of Service in Bath and the collection of G.C.D. Howley, editor of The Witness from 1955 to 1977. System of arrangement: ACCESS AND USE Language: English.
