Administrative/Biographical history: In 1852 a training school for women educational missionaries was founded in Calcutta. Interserve remained a women-only mission for 100 years, including men in its work from 1952. Interserve works in south and central Asia, the Middle East and north Africa.

CONTENT AND STRUCTURE
Scope and content/abstract: The collection comprises the archives of the society since its foundation in 1852, and includes papers, minutes, films, videotapes, photographs and slides relating to the society's activities mostly in India and Pakistan, but also in Bangladesh, Bhutan, central Asia, Egypt, the Middle East, Nepal and the UK.
