CONTEXT

Name of creator(s):

Administrative/Biographical history: The Bible Churchmen's Missionary Society was founded in 1922 following a division within the Church Missionary Society. Its earliest missionaries were sent to Canada, China, Burma and Africa. It changed its name to Crosslinks in the early 1990s. In 1925, the society founded the Bible Missionary Training College in Bristol to train its missionaries and it subsequently opened Dalton House for training women. The men's college was renamed Tyndale Hall in 1952 and in 1972 it merged with Dalton Hall and Clifton Theological College to become Trinity College.

Scope and content/abstract: Minutes, administrative files, missionary files, publications and literature of the Bible Churchmen's Missionary Society [BCMS]and records of the BCMS College, Bristol, the BCMS Northern Council and the BCMS Bristol Auxiliary.
