CONTEXT Name of creator(s): Administrative/Biographical history: Michael Andrews Morrison was born c 1854, and was educated at Foyle Academy. He joined the British and Foreign Bible Society and was posted as a colporteur to Odessa in1877 and to Tiflis in May 1879. He married Janet Swan in 1878-9; their daughter Marion Ethel Morrison was born in 1883 (probably one of several siblings). Custodial history: Source material in the possesion of Michael Andrews and Marion Ethel Morrison. Immediate source of acquisition: Received from Marion Ethel Morrison, June 1966 and 15 July 1970. CONTENT AND STRUCTURE Scope and content/abstract: The collection includes a manuscript and typescript copy of Marion Ethel Morrison’s account of the travels of Michael Andrews Morrison in Russia, Daghestan, Armenia, Azerbaijan,Turkestan, Romania, Serbia, and Germany, on behalf of the British and Foreign Bible Study during the period 1877-1917, with related articles and press cuttings by, or about, Michael Andrews Morrison.
