CONTEXT Name of creator(s): Administrative/Biographical history: Nonconformist churches in Wales had supported the London Missionary Society since its foundation in 1795. Prior to the founding of the Foreign Missions of the Calvinistic Methodist Church in 1840 the LMS had been Wales' main missionary society. Even after 1840 the LMS was well-supported by the Congregational and Independent churches of Wales both in terms of home support and overseas agency.
